TopicBreakthrough Performance

Over the past decade we have posed the question: For every $100 spent on capital projects, how much does not contribute to the end product or its value to the client? The answers have ranged between $5 and $35. The mean has hovered around $27. So where does this money go? And can we stop spending it? and, more importantly, can we share in the resulting substantial savings?

Last year we heard about the neuro-economics behind why we do what we do today - and why we spend so much time and money doing what adds little value to projects. This year we will look at what has been learned from thee oft-repeated lessons and who is already doing something about breaking the cycle. What are the keys to Breakthrough Performance? Breakthrough Performance uses a strongly aligned approach to engaging the stakeholders in such ventures to build and then share in these savings. This presentation will introduce the audience to the essence of this idea, where it has come from and why it works. Breakthrough performance builds on the vast knowledge of industry practitioners and the new ideas that are emerging around P3s, Integrated Project Delivery and high performance, intent-driven Project Management.
